Yes. We work with most major PPO insurance plans, and private-pay options are also available. How much does treatment cost?

Cost depends on your insurance coverage and length of stay, so there’s no honest one-size-fits-all number. What should I bring to treatment?

Bring about a week’s worth of comfortable clothing (laundry is available), athletic wear and sneakers for gym and beach activities, toiletries (alcohol-free), your ID and insurance card, a list of current medications in original packaging, and a small amount of spending money. Leave valuables at home. Our admissions team will send you a complete packing list before you arrive.

Is everything confidential?

Completely. Your call, your assessment, and your treatment are protected by federal privacy laws (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, which gives substance-use treatment records extra protection). We do not share your information with anyone — including family members — without your written consent.

What substances do you treat?

Accepted Answer

We treat the full range of substance use disorders: alcohol, opioids and fentanyl, benzodiazepines, cocaine and other stimulants, methamphetamine, prescription medications, marijuana, and polysubstance use. Our detox protocols are substance-specific, and treatment plans are individualized to each man’s history.

How long is treatment?

Detox typically takes 4–10 days depending on the substance. Residential treatment commonly runs 30, 60, or 90 days — research consistently shows that longer stays produce stronger outcomes. Your clinical team will recommend a length based on your assessment, and insurance authorization often plays a role. Most men complete detox and residential back-to-back under one roof.

Is detox medically supervised?

Yes. Our detox program includes 24-hour clinical support and monitoring, physician-directed comfort medications, and substance-specific withdrawal protocols. Withdrawal from alcohol and benzodiazepines in particular can be medically dangerous — no one should attempt it alone. You’ll detox in a private bedroom in our home, not a hospital ward.

Why is Tidal Forge men-only?

Because men recover differently. In men-only groups, the posturing drops and honest work starts faster — clinicians see men disclose trauma and shame earlier in male-only settings. It also removes the distraction of early-recovery romance, one of the most common relapse triggers. Every part of our program, from group topics to daily structure, is designed specifically for how men heal.

What does a typical day look like?

Days are structured on purpose: a morning routine with movement (gym, beach walks), individual therapy and men-only group sessions through the day, chef-quality meals, experiential and life-skills programming, 12-step meetings, and evening wind-down. Structure rebuilds the discipline addiction dismantled — and the ocean is part of the treatment plan.

Do you use the 12 steps?

We introduce every resident to 12-step recovery and help him connect with meetings and a sponsor before discharge, because the 12-step community is the largest free ongoing support network on earth. That said, our clinical program is broader — individual therapy, group counseling, family work, and evidence-based approaches run alongside step introduction.

Can my family be involved in my treatment?

Yes — and we strongly encourage it. Our Family Program includes education workshops, communication coaching, and clinician-guided family therapy sessions when you’re clinically ready. Addiction is a family disease, and outcomes are better when the family heals alongside the man in treatment.

How do I get help for someone who doesn’t want it?

Will I be able to contact my family during treatment?

Yes, with structure. The first days of treatment are typically focused inward, and phone access follows a clinically guided schedule after that. Family contact is coordinated with your treatment team so that communication supports recovery rather than pulling you back into old dynamics.

We’re located at 9582 Peppertree Drive, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 — a private residential home minutes from the beach in Orange County. We serve men from Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Long Beach, Irvine, greater Los Angeles, and across California; many clients also travel from out of state.

What makes a six-bed home different from a large facility?

Attention. In a large facility it’s easy to disappear into the back row. In a six-bed home, every man is known by name, story, and treatment plan by his first dinner. Our staff-to-client ratio means the clinical team works deeply with six men instead of managing a census — and the house itself feels like a home, not an institution.

What happens after I complete treatment?

You leave with a plan, not just a discharge date: an aftercare roadmap, outside meetings and a sponsor already in place, and automatic enrollment in our Alumni Program — monthly check-ins, alumni events, crisis support, and sober living referrals. You leave the house. You never leave the brotherhood.
