Clinical therapy rebuilds the mind. Holistic work rebuilds everything it lives in. Sound baths, breath work, guided meditation, Reiki, and yoga are woven into every week at Tidal Forge — not as extras, but as practical tools for the sleep, stress, and cravings of early recovery.
Deep rest for a nervous system that forgot how
A sound bath is a guided listening experience — crystal and Tibetan bowls, chimes, and gongs producing sustained tones that wash over you while you lie back and do absolutely nothing. For men in early recovery, whose nervous systems have been running on adrenaline, cravings, and poor sleep for years, it is often the first experience of genuine stillness they can remember.
The tool that is always with you
Breath work uses structured breathing patterns — box breathing, extended exhales, guided deep-breathing sessions — to directly regulate the body’s stress response. It is the most portable tool in recovery: when a craving hits in the car, at work, or at 2 a.m., your breath is the one intervention you always have. We teach it deliberately, practice it daily, and men leave with a skill they use for the rest of their lives.
Training the mind that used to run the show
Addiction is, among other things, a thinking problem — obsession, rumination, the 4 a.m. committee in your head. Guided meditation teaches men to watch thoughts instead of obeying them. Every session is led, so there is no pressure to "clear your mind"; you simply follow a voice, come back when you drift, and build the mental muscle that makes Step 11 — and quiet — actually possible.
Restorative energy work for body and mind
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-hovering) energy practice performed by a trained practitioner while you rest fully clothed. Men are often the most skeptical walking in and the most surprised walking out — describing sessions as the deepest relaxation they’ve felt without a substance. In a program built on hard clinical work, Reiki is the counterweight: an hour where the only job is to receive.
Strength, flexibility, and a body you stop fighting
Years of substance use leave the body stiff, inflamed, and disconnected. Our yoga sessions are built for men — strength-focused, straightforward, and zero pretension. Expect real physical work: balance, mobility, and controlled breathing that doubles as moving meditation. It rebuilds the connection between body and mind that addiction severed, and most men keep the practice long after discharge.
Holistic services at Tidal Forge aren’t a spa menu — they’re scheduled into the weekly rhythm of our residential program, right alongside individual therapy, group work, and 12-step practice. Every tool on this page was chosen for one reason: it directly targets the sleep, stress, cravings, and disconnection that drive relapse. See what we treat or meet the team guiding the work.
